John D. Walker, 87 of Hanover, departed this life on Monday, August 21, 2017 from Logan Regional Medical Center. Born August 28, 1929, in Davy, WV to the late McKinley & Armeda Bailey Walker. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Ellen Walker; daughter: Robin Browning; grandson: Cody Walker; granddaughter: Sabrina Cline; 5 brothers: Charlie, Howard, Glen, Curtis and Frank Walker; 4 sisters: Ruby Conley, Madge Walker, Nancy Lowe and Addie Walker; and also his grandparents. Johnny was a loving son, husband, father, father in law, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He loved to flea market and spend time with his loving family. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Johnny and to mourn his passing include his children: Ronda ( Larry) Hatfield of Coal Mountain, David ( Deloris) Walker, Kimberly (Larry) Dillon, Jonathan Walker, Mickey ( companion Robin West) Walker, Rickey (Jeanette) Walker, Bradley (Tanya) Walker and Vanessa Walker all of Hanover; brother: Billy (Dorothy) Walker of Hanover; sister: Ella (Rabon) Dameron of Ikes Fork; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a friend who was like a son: Robert Morgan and a host of other dear family and friends. Friends may gather with the family on Thursday, August 24, 2017 for. 6-9 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will commence on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Robert Hunt and Rev. Gary Browning officiating. Burial will follow at the Walker Family Cemetery at Hanover. He will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends. Gone from our sight but never from our hearts, he will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
