Marie (Browning) Walls, 87 of Gilbert, WV, departed this life Sunday, April 21, 2024, from Logan Regional Medical Center. Born May 2, 1936, at Leatherwood, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Bessie Mae (Carter) Browning.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 58 yrs.: Cecil Ardell Walls; her daughter: Rebecca Marie (Walls) Hatfield; brothers: Rev. Elden Browning, Rev. Ola Browning, and Hansel Browning; sisters: Lola Layne, Rena Layne, and Ruby Browning; son-in-law: Howard Wayne Cooper.
Marie was a member of the Leatherwood Community Church. She loved to crochet, shop, work in her flowers, and garden, she especially enjoyed time spent with her family and friends.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her son: Keevin (Joann) Walls; daughters: Marcella (late Howard) Cooper, and Pamela (Roger) Fitch; her heartfelt daughters: Barbara Loretta (Browning) Herczeg and Zelda Godfrey Zizelman; grandchildren: Valarie (Eric) Burgess, Shawna (Justin) Dotson, Aimee (Paul) Cantrell, Cecil Wayne (Jessica) Cooper, Jimmy Roger (Margaret) Fitch, Danielle (Nick) Hoff; great grandchildren: Sarah Davis, Sadie Burgess, Matthew Layne, Ashton Dotson, Hannah Cantrell, Abigail Cantrell, Raegan Hoff, Aiden Fitch, McKinley Fitch; great great grandchildren: Harper Davis, Reagan Davis. Marie leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Monday, April 29, 2024 from 12:00 till 2:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Rev. Michael Browning and Rev. James Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Browning-Dye Cemetery at Verner, WV.
Marie will be carried to her resting place by pallbearers: Jimmy Roger Fitch, Cecil Wayne Cooper, Nick Hoff, Justin Dotson, Aiden Fitch, Ashton Dotson, Paul Cantrell, Matthew Layne, Eric Burgess. Honorary pallbearers are: Kermit Browning, Roger Fitch, Danny Hatfield, Dennis Walls, Joe and Josie New, Rev. Gary and Sissy Browning.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
