Lowell " Hoppy" Mounts graduated from Gilbert High School in 1966.

He began his career in the funeral industry in 1970 at Brooks Funeral Home, formerly of Hampden, WV.

He then attended the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science where he earned the Bill Pierce Award after being elected "most professional graduate" by his peers.

In October 1978, Hoppy returned to Gilbert to start his family and establish Mounts Funeral Home, Inc.

Mounts Funeral Home, Inc. has been locally owned & operated by Lowell "Hoppy" and Linda Lee Mounts since 1979.

In 1984 Hoppy became a member of the WV Funeral Directors Association.
