Iras Irene Bowens Ball, 47 of Mallory, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Logan Regional Medical Center, following a long illness. She was born July 3, 1970 at Man Appalachian Regional Hospital, the baby daughter of the late Kathern Louise and Robert “Bob” Bowens of Mallory. Iras was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Sylvia and George Cochran of Tunnel Hill Georgia; her paternal grandparents Lena Mae and Bass Johnson of Mallory; her 5 nephews: George Michael Bowens Jr. of Mallory, Jamie and Matthew Church of Mallory, Robert Bowens Jr. of Mallory and Jason Hedrick of Mallory; 1 great nephew: Dalton Cole Gibson of Dayton, Va. Irene enjoyed going to Orville Holiness Church, and she loved unicorns, doing crafts, watching television, walking, spending time with her family, and listening to her gospel music. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 8 yrs: Ezra Ball of Mallory; her son: Luke Brown of Mallory; 3 sisters: Sylvia “Sis” (Mom) and Bill Rogers of Mallory, Chassie (Loren) Blankenship of Dayton, Va., and Nancy (Woody) Murphy of Delbarton; 2 brothers: George and his late wife Faye Bowens, and Robert (Tammy) Bowens, all of Mallory; 7 nieces: Stacy Hedrick of Mallory, April (Darrin) Maynor of Crites, Debra “Jene” Brown of McDowell County, Kathern “Nina” Salyers of Coal Mountain, Kathern (Todd) Terrance of New York, Sabrina “Sissy” Cline of Gilbert, and Kristy (Adam) Lester of Mallory; her nephew: Heath (Karen) Cline of Tennessee’ 4 great nephews: Brandon Maynor of Neibert, Dustin Maynor of Pecks Mill, Michael Hedrick and Brandon (Jennifer) Cline, all of Mallory; 2 great nieces: Ashley Maynor of Crites and Abby Salyers of Mallory; 2 great-great nieces: Serenity Brooke Musso of Crites and Cierra Paige Salmons, who she called CC, of Mallory; 1 great-great nephew: Xavier Jai Kitchen of Logan. She also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends. Friends may gather with the family Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 12 to 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Walter Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery at Logan, WV. She will be carried to her final resting place by her family and friends.
