Violet Wilson, 67, of Hopewell Township, New Jersey, died suddenly on Saturday, April 25th, 2009, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident while visiting family in North Carolina.
Born on April 16, 1942, at Camp Creek, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Thurley Wood Farley.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: two brothers: Graden and Wilson Farley; a sister, Dollie Mills; a special brother-in-law, Robert Wilson; and a special sister-in-law, Lillie Wilson.
Violet had been a Hopewell Township resident since 1968 and had lived in Bridgeton New Jersey and West Virginia prior to that. She had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Bridgeton Hospital Association for seven years. She had also worked at the former Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for twenty-four years until the plants closing. Violet was an active and dedicated member of the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday school, worked with the youth, and ministered to the elderly. She loved to help people in need.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are: her loving husband Ronald A. Wilson of Hopewell Township; her two sisters: Porta Lee Simpkins of Princeton and Elsie Wilson of Vineland NJ; her brother, Garlen Farley of Pauley Island SC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends called at the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church at 446 Indian Avenue, Bridgeton NJ, on Wednesday, April 29th from 6 to 8 pm. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Padgett Funeral Home, Upper Deerfield Township.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Saturday, May 2nd from 12 to 1 pm prior to services.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 2nd at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with her pastor, Rev. Franklin Stanley of the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church officiating.
Burial followed in the Wilson Cemetery at Justice.
Pallbearers were: Mark Smith, Lee Vance, Nick Hoff, Arvid Collins, Terry Hamrick, and Mike Foytek.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Violet's memory be made to the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church, 446 Indian Avenue, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
