Helen E. Vance, 78 of Justice, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and joined her many loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on September 5, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born on November 7, 1933, at Man, she was the daughter of the late Ola Mathers and Anna Johnston Brown.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one grandson, Gary Joseph Vance, one brother, Ambrose Brown and one sister, Joyce Toler.
Helen was a wonderful wife, loving mother, a special grandmother and great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a homemaker and member of the Justice Church of God for 53 years.. She loved the Lord and enjoyed spending time with her wonderful church family. She loved lifting her voice in song and praise to her heavenly Father. She loved spending time with her wonderful family and friends. Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known her and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Helen and to mourn her passing include her loving husband of 61 years, Harry Vance of Justice; her two daughters: Theresa (David) Gibson of Lebanon Tennessee and Lori Vance of Man; her three sons: Kent (Jacquetta) Vance of Fan Rock, Gary (Tammy) Vance of Baisden and Glen (Tamara) Vance of Accoville; her three sisters: Nina Ferguson and Betty Enevoldsen, both of North Augusta North Carolina and Janice Browning of Tamcliff; her three granddaughters: Adrienne (Randy) Gilley, Natasha (Roy) Blankenship and Amy (Chad) Sizemore; her five grandsons: Kenny (Marlene) Vance, Randy (Amanda) Gibson and James, Anthony and Steven Vance; her nine great-grandchildren; her two expected great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear relatives and friends.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Ann Sutters, Paul and Glenna Vance, Jean Hatfield, and to neighbors who are just like family--David and Angie Sparks for their loving kindness and care.
Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Saturday, September 8th from 6 pm to 9 pm with a special service at 7 pm.
Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 9th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Albert Cline, Jr. and Rev. Bryan Baker officiating.
Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Justice.
Helen will be carried to her final resting place by her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are: David Sparks, Billy Cook, Jr., Clayton Meade, Kenny Meade, Leonard Cresong, Jeff Browning & Paul Vance.
She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.

Vitisation: Sautrday, September 8th from 6 pm to 9 pm
Funeral: Sunday, September 9th at 1:00 pm
Place: Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, WV
