Ruth Godfrey

Ruth Godfrey, 89 of Gilbert, departed this life on Tuesday, February 26th, 2013, at her daughter’s residence at Scott Depot.

Born on June 6, 1923 at Vansant Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Rosa Looney Hale.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Godfrey and all of her siblings.

Ruth was a loving mother and was owner and operator of Ruth’s Beauty Shop in Gilbert. She was a member of the Justice United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Ruth and to mourn her passing are her two daughters: Rose Godfrey of Scott Depot and Charla Godfrey of Gilbert; a special son-in-law, Greg; a very special grandson, Kaleb Cline; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Ruth's Hospice team, Mark and Kristin and her caregiver, Robin.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Saturday, March 2nd at 1:00 pm for a memorial service with Rev. Bill Cresong officiating.

To honor her wishes she will be cremated.

She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
