Romaine Cline, 91 of Gilbert Creek, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at her home following a lingering illness.

Born April 24, 1919 in Mingo County, Romaine was the daughter of the late Sampy and Onie Cline.

In addition to her parents Romaine was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Harlan Cline and her only child, Gary G. Cline.

Romaine was a retired school teacher with 37 years in the Mingo County School system. She spent most of those years at Cline Grade School where she touched the lives of many children through the years. Romaine attended the First Missionary Baptist Church at Justice.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to carry on her legacy include her brother Harry Cline of Baisden; her sister, Kitty Chen of Delaware; her only grandson, Eric N. Cline of Hardy VA; her daughter-in-law, Donna M. Cline who helped care for her during the last few years; and special care givers: Anita and Arthur Ellis.

Friends may gather with the family, to celebrate Romaine’s life, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Sunday, August 29th at 2:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm at the Chapel with the Rev. Jim Nagy officiating.

Entombment will follow at the Cline Cemetery at Gilbert Creek.

She will be carried to her final resting place by: Charles Lester, Burl Moore, Arthur Ellis, Jack Ellis, Eddie Walls, Joey Walls, Doug Ellis and Jesse Ellis.
