Lucille Fortner, 87 of Gilbert, went to heaven to be with her Heavenly Father and her beloved husband, Rev. Frank Fortner on October 21, 2009, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born on October 16, 1922, at South Point Ohio, she was the daughter of the late, Pearlie Jackson and Lizzie Trent Harless.
In addition to her parents and her loving husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James Everett Williams; five brothers: Milton, Frank, Fred, P. J. "Bud", Jr., and Ray Harless; and three sisters: Betty Jo Collins, Marie Mace, and Mae Morris.
Lucille was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and Child of God. She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are: her four loving daughters: Joyce Ann (Buddy) Hatfield, Carolyn Sue (Ralph) Shannon, Linda Gale (Kerry) Cline, and Shirley Lynn (Timer) May; her four brothers: Rev. Marshall (Opal) Harless, Earl (Trula) Harless, Jimmy Harless, and James H. (Hallie) Harless; her special sister-in-love, Ruth Ann Harless; her six precious grandchildren: Twilla, Todd, Frankie, Jon, Shanna, and Dawn; her eleven great grandchildren: Candi and Seth Lester, Megan and Teryn Hatfield, Emily, Elliot, and Ethan Shannon, Tanner Shannon, and Hollie, Jacob and Sarah Nagy; her three great great grandchildren: Sydney Harrison and Rylie and Alaina Lester; a special niece, Paiga Harless; her beloved pets: Tike, Brownie, Patches, and Fluffy; and a host of other dear family and friends.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Dignity Hospice and Home Health for all their loving care and support.
Friends may call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Saturday, October 24th from 6 to 9 pm with a service at 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 25th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Browning and the Rev. David Browning officiating.
Burial will follow in the Leatherwood Community Cemetery at Justice.
She will be carried to her final resting place by her grandsons and great grandsons: Todd Hatfield, Frankie Shannon, Jon Shannon, Seth Lester, Elliot Shannon, Jimbo Nagy, and Jody Shannon.
Honorary pallbearers are: Ronnie and Bill Browning, Gary Harris, Bill Peak, John L. Browning, Alvin Browning, and Gale Haney.
Junior pallbearers are: Tanner Shannon, Ethan Shannon, and Jacob Nagy.
