Lorraine Lester

Lorraine Lester, 83 of Isaban, departed this life on Saturday, March 3rd, 2012 at her residence.

Born on September 25, 1928, at Tamcliff, she was the daughter of the late Lafe and Sarah Hatfield Cline.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Garrison Lester; two sons: Danny Ray and Cletus David Lester; one grandson, Chris Lester; one granddaughter, Cynthia Dawn Laney; her brothers: Frank J., Halsey, Burb and Monroe Cline; and sisters: Lydia Surber, Nellie Bailey, Ruby Johnson, Virginia Stevens, Barbara “Tootsie” Mitchell and Essie Farley.

Lorraine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Lorraine and to mourn her passing include her children: Garmon (Tresa) Lester, Milton “Pete” (Teresa) Lester, Sheila (Jerry) Hallam, Deborah (Isom, Jr) Johnson and Tammy (Kevin) Cline, all of Isaban, and Namon Lester and Henrietta Johnson, both of Baisden; a special grandson, whom she raised, Johnathan Lester; her 23 grandchildren; her 23 great-grandchildren; her one expected great-grandchild; her one great-great-grandchild; her great grandchild and caregiver, Sarah Smith; a special caregiver, Loretta Blankenship; and a host of other dear family and precious friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Tuesday, March 6th from 6 pm9 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, March 7th at the Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church with Elder Hobart Hamilton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Four Pole Cemetery at Mohawk.

Lorraine will be carried to her final resting place by her grandsons.

She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
