Joan Browning, 78 of Coal Mountain, departed this life Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born February 18, 1937 at Buffalo Creek, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alta Morgan Hoosier.
In addition to her parents, Joan was also preceded in death by her husband: Jack Browning; her son: Anthony Browning; her daughters: Terri Lester and Jacqueline Browning; grandson: Christopher Cline.
Joan was a member of the Coal Mountain Community Church.
She had worked many years as a cook in the Coal Mountain Grade School, Baileysville High School, and also for Westside High School, where she finally retired in 2010.
Those left to love and cherish her memory are her 2 daughters: Christine Cline of Pineville, WV and Sheila Graham of Fort Siebert, WV; her 2 sons: Curtis Browning of Franklin, WV and Paul Browning of Matheny, WV; special grandson: Michael “Pebo” Browning of Coal Mountain, WV; her grandchildren: Christie Massey. Jeff and Stanley Graham, Jason and Samantha Morgan, Candice Grigsby, Michael and Leann Browning, Scarlet Cline, Megan Light, Oksana, Cheyenne, and Steven Browning, and Teddy Bennett. Joan also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, October 9, 2015, after 6 pm at the Coal Mountain Community Church at Coal Mt. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Coal Mountain Community Church with the Rev. Wayne Bailey and Rev. Randy Massey officiating.
Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, WV.
Joan will be carried to her final resting place by pallbearers: Pebo and Steven Browning, Jeff and Stanley Graham, David Grigsby, Billy Jack Morgan and Teddy Bennett.
She may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

Visitation: Friday, October 9, 2015 after 6 pm.
Funeral: Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
Place of Visitation and Funeral: Coal Mountain Community Church, Coal Mt. WV.
