Jack Ellis, 83 of Gilbert, departed this life on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Williamson ARH.
Born September 9, 1930, he was the son of the late Alex and Hazel (Smith) Ellis.
Jack was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a United States Army Veteran and served in the Korean War. Jack was a member of the Justice United Methodist Church of Justice.
In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by his wife Delilah Ellis and one brother Frank Ellis.
Those left to cherish the memory of Jack include his two sons: Kim (Connie) Ellis of Gilbert, WV and Jeffrey Keith Ellis of Barboursville, WV, Grandchildren: Candice (Ronnie) Stacy of Gilbert, WV and Rebekah (Anson) Cline of Teays Valley, WV, two special Grandchildren: Jeanna Bradford and LaCosta Simpson both of Gilbert, WV, Brother: Joe Ellis of Gilbert, WV and Sister: Dimple Voigt of Florida, a very special cousin Betty Jo Peak of Gilbert, WV, and a host of nieces, nephews, dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, December 16, 2013 from 6-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 1:00pm with the Rev. Clifford Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellis Family Cemetery at Gilbert.
Jack will be carried to his final resting place by Wayne Ellis Jr., Cameron Ellis, Travis Ellis, Jody Ellis, Leonard Simpson Jr. and Heath Bradford. Honorary Pallbearers include Wayne Ellis, Chandos Peak, Kerry Cline, Jimmy Bragg, Ray Lester, Doug Surber, Leonard Simpson Sr., Arthur Ray Hatfield, Tom Perry, Eugene Ellis and Harry Ellis.
He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
