Gladys Mounts, 85 of Baisden, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Monday, June 27th, 2011, from her residence.

Born June 23, 1926 at Baisden, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Vannie New.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nelis Mounts, one daughter, Gearlene Adkins; one son, Luther Mounts; and one grandson, Robin Mounts.

Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with her wonderful family, her church family, and her friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of her and to mourn her passing include her daughter, Patricia (Terry) Glandon of Baisden; her three sons: Learmon (Sue) Mounts, Barry (Rhonda) Mounts, and Larry (Carol) Mounts, all of Baisden; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Mounts of Baisden; ;her son-in-law, Bill Adkins of Baisden; her two sisters: Alma Cline of Baisden and Alice Lester of Justice; her brother, Douglas New of Coal Mountain; her sixteen grandchildren; her many great-grandchildren; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Full Gospel Church of God at Baisden, on Wednesday, June 29th, from 6 pm to 10 pm with a special service at 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, June 30th, 2011, at the Full Gospel Church of God with the Rev. Jonas Trent and Rev. Lowell Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Sharon Heights of Hampden.

She will be carried to her final resting place by David, Luther, Ricky, Barry, Kerry, Jeremy and Christopher Mounts, and Jamie and Steve Adkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Ricky, Justin, and Josh Johnson, Eddie Mounts, Bill Adkins, Terry Glandon, Zack Yates, and Matthew Hatfield.
