Fred Bailey

Fred Bailey, 96 of Baileysville, WV entered the gates of Heaven, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Logan Center, Logan, WV of a long illness.

Born July 27, 1917 at Baileysville, WV, he was the son of the late Robert and Maggie Holcomb Bailey.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Beatrice Bailey, stepson: David Justice; a baby brother: Junior Bailey; 2 brothers: Kincel and J.C. Bailey; 2 sisters: Lettie Walls and Marie Stone.

Fred served in the U.S. Army and fought in WWII. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He was also a retired carpenter and of the Pentecostal Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife: Lois Justice Bailey; special stepdaughter Geneva (Ben) Harper of Verner; stepson: Larry Justice of Jacksonville, FL; stepdaughter-in-law: Debbie Justice; 2 brothers: Bill (Donna) Bailey of Beckley, Jimmy (Judy) Bailey of Cleveland, OH; four sisters: Opal Roberts of Toms River, NJ, Helen (Bob) Graham of Mullins, WV, Janis (Joe) Butner of Spotsylvania, VA, and Freda Billings of Glen White, WV; step-grandchildren: Lynlee, Susan, Matthew, Jamie, Dawn and David Justice, Terry and Jerry Harper; special niece: Rose Stafford. Fred leaves behind a host of other special nieces, nephews and friends that loved him dearly.

Friends may gather with the family Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with special service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 12:00 at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denny May and Rev. Louie Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill. Fred will be carried to his final resting place by his nephews and friends.
