Edith Blankenship, 80, of Isaban, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 24, 2008, from her residence.
Born on November 26, 1927, at Isaban, she was the loving daughter of the late Jerry and Littie (Fuller) Griffey.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Blankenship; a son, Billy Blankenship; three sisters: Elizibeth Morgan, Goldie Trent, and Earsey Griffey; and a brother, Luther Griffey.
Edith was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker and of the Church of God Faith. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Edith are: her three loving daughters: Wilma Lockart of Isaban, Mary Bell (Rick) Banks of Kentucky, and Bonnie Sue Blankenship of North Carolina; her three precious sons: Timmy Ray, Freddy Joe (Loretta), and Ralph Blankenship all of Isaban; her brother, Oaz Griffey of Isaban; her four adorable granddaughters: Frances Cline, Angela (Bobby) Coleman, Mary Powell, and Carrie Blankenship; her five adorable grandsons: Harold, Evan, and Chase Blankenship, and Edgar and Adam Hardin; her eight great grandchildren; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Isaban Church of God at Isaban on Thursday, November 27th from 6 to 9 pm.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 28th at the Isaban Church of God with the Rev. Lawrence Cantrell officiating. Burial followed in the Brushy Fork Cemetery at Isaban.
Pallbearers were: Billy Justice, Randy Goodman, Adam Hardin, Edgar Hardin, Bobby Coleman, Johnny Ray Lester, and Ralph Blankenship.
