Chris Brumfield

Chris Brumfield, 83 of Tamcliffe, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and joined his many loved ones waiting for him in heaven, on Sunday, May 11, 2014, from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born on July 28, 1930 in Wayne County, he was the son of the late William and Adie Brumfield.

In addition to his parents Chris was preceded in death by five brothers: Lafe, Don, Homer, Elmer and Tad Brumfield; one sister, Ethel Trent and one grandson, Christopher Layne.

Chris was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those remaining to love and cherish the memory of Chris and to mourn his passing include his loving wife of 57 years, Agnes Blankenship Brumfield of Tamcliffe; his five children: Bertha (Walter) Grimmett of Tamcliffe, Patty (Samuel) Blankenship of Oceana, Christine (Robert) Morgan of Coal Mountain, Christopher Todd (Kathy) Brumfield of Georgia and Sheila Damron of Kermit; a very special sister-in-law, Linda McCoy; his four grandchildren: Tonya (Justin) Sizemore, Kayla Morgan, Gabe Barnett and Anthony Lester; his six great-grandchildren: Gunner Robert Barnett, Hunter Grimmett, Ciara Smith, Caden Sizemore, Braden Lester and Breanna Lester; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Thursday, May 15th from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on May 16th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Diamond Carter and Rev. Lowell Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny.

Chris will be carried to his final resting place by: Larry Huffman, Daniel Hatfield, Travis Abbott, Dalton Abbott, Roger Dale Blankenship, Gabe Barnett and Justin Sizemore.

He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
