Charles Wolford

Charles Wolford, 66 of Wharncliffe, departed this life on Saturday, October 15th, 2011, at his residence.

Born on November 17, 1944, at Wharncliffe, he was the son of Drewey and Annie Harmon Wolford of Delbarton.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Millie Belle Johnson Wolford; one brother, Jimmy Wolford; one sister, Emma Jean Cline; and one step-son, Arthur Teems.

Charles was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a retired coal miner and of the Pentecostal faith.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, those left to love and cherish the memory of Charles and to mourn his passing include, his three sons: Daniel, Charles Jr., and Jimmy Dale Wolford all of Wharncliffe; his three daughters: Tina, Audrey Jean, and Heather Wolford all of Wharncliffe; his three step-sons: John Johnson of Wharncliffe, Larry Joe Teems of Wharncliffe, and Eugene Teems of Columbus Ohio; his step-daughter, Ethel Wolford of Wharncliffe; his four brothers: Jammy, Junior, William, and Carl “Cab” Wolford; his sister, Brenda; his three special grandsons: Nathaniel Carl Vance, Dalton Ryan Vance, and Nathan Wolford; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Wednesday, October 19th from 6 pm to 9 pm with a special service at 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 20th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Diamond Carter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Wolford Cemetery at Hampden.

Charles will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.

He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
