Versie Stanley

Versie Stanley, 79, of North Spring, departed this life on Friday, September 11, 2015, from Logan Regional Medical Center. Born September 23, 1935, at Lower Muzzle, she was the daughter of the late Mose & Polly (Roberts) Christian. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two grandsons: Craig Robinette & Kenny Lester & 4 brothers. Versie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was of the Baptist faith. Versie loved spending time with her family and loved quilting. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Versie and to mourn her passing include her loving husband Clyde Stanley of North Spring; 5 daughters: Ruth Ann Bailey, Barbara Salyers, Jennifer Lester, Janet Hatfield & Gail Hall; 2 sons: Harold “Buddy” Testerman & Darren Stanley; 6 grandchildren: Jerry Lee Hall Jr., Phillip Walls, Faith Norman, Andrea Hyatt, Stephen Hatfield & Natalie Stanley; 7 great grandchildren: Allora Lester, Serenity Hyatt, Shaye Beheler, Kaden Smith, Kendra Gilbert, Coy Hall & Nora Hall; 2 brothers: Vanno Christian & Vernal Christian; 1 sister: Vida Berry; a host of nieces and nephews and other dear family and friends. Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 6-9pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Randolph & Barbara Salyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Stanley Cemetery at North Spring. Pallbearers will be Stephen Hatfield, Phillip Walls, Jerry Lee Hall Jr., Jerry Hyatt, Glenn Lester & Joey Holzapfel. Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
