Shirley Henderson

Shirley Henderson, 66 of Splendor Valley, WV, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday morning, December 19, 2013 following a long illness. She passed away at Welch Community Hospital in Welch, WV, surrounded by her loving family.

Born at Welch, WV on June 27, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John and Clara (Rowe) Hyatt. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Church of God. Shirley loved to read, write poems and she loved to color and spend time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers: J.D. Hyatt and James Rose; one sister: Gerlene Meadows; two sons: Billy Ray Reed and Clifford Wayne Hyatt; one daughter: Barbara Ann Hyatt.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Frank Henderson; three brothers: Tommy (Kathy) Hyatt of Long Pole, Frank (Janet) Hyatt of Jolo, Kelly (Lois) Hyatt of Panther; sister: Mary (Jimmy) Browning of War; two sons: Charles “Junebug” (Tammy) Reed of Roanoak, VA and Leroy (Tabby) Reed of Iaeger; four daughters: Loretta (Russell) Collins of Iaeger, Anita (Bobby) Branham of Long Pole, Samantha (Wayne) Coleman of Splendor Valley and Cheryl Bryant of the home. 13 Grandchildren: Jessica Stinson, Justin, April, Hunter, Charlie amd Matthew Reed, Crystal Newberry, Natasha and Greg Collins, Michelle Barbour, Jasmine Coleman, Kelli ARoberts and Juanita Ferrell; great-grandchildren: Alex, Madison, Kaiden and Allison Stinson, Logan and Leighara Newberry, Allison Blankenship, Justin, Cody, and Aaliyah Hogston, Torrance and Brooklyn Reed, Blake and Peyton Coleman, Jeremy Ferrell, Dana and Christiana Roberts, and many more nieces and nephews who she loved. Also a host of other family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, December 21, 2013 after 6 pm at the Morningstar Baptist Church in Long Pole, WV. Service at 7 pm with the Rev. Clinton Jackson.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Morningstar Baptist Church with the Rev. Clinton Jackson and Rev. Lennis Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Memorial Cemetery in Rock Branch, at Lit War, WV

Shirley will be carried to her final resting place by pallbearers: Charlie, Matthew and Justin Reed, T.J. Newberry, Brandon Vinson, Wayne and Dewayne Coleman, Bobby Branham, Greg Collins, Shawn Stinson, John and Teddy Meadows and E.J. and Dewayne Hyatt.
