Ronald Hess, 68 of Verner, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join his loved ones waiting for him in heaven, on Friday, April 19, 2013, from St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.
Born April 25, 1944 at Columbus Ohio, he was the son of the late Delber and Hazel Higgins Hess.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, JoAnn Hess and one son, Michael May.
Ronald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a truck driver and a member of the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church at Hampden. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Ronald and to mourn his passing include his loving wife of 37 years, Melanie Hess of Verner; his children: Angie (Steven) Pope of Newton, Deborah (Brent) Shelton of Zenia Ohio, Bryon Hess of Springfield Ohio, John (Connie) May of Gilbert and Kayla (Ricky Wiley) May of Verner; his brothers: Roy (Mary) Hess of Galloway Ohio, Ralph Hess of Columbus Ohio, Roland (Tonya) Hess of West Jefferson Ohio, and Raymond (Marjorie) Hess of Lancaster Ohio; his special great-grandson, Cameron Gerace of Taplin; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other dear family, and friends.
Friends may gather with the family at the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church at Hampden on Tuesday, April 23rd from 11 am to 1 pm.
Funeral services will commence at 1 pm on Tuesday, April 23rd at the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Warden officiating.
Burial will follow in Justice Memorial Gardens at Justice.
Ronald will be carried to his final resting place by: Kevin Allen, Clarence Toler, Doug Chapman, Frank Lester, Jr., Steven Pope and Butch Cline.
Honorary pallbearers are: Lonnie Brown, Larry Brown, Clyde Moreland, Richard Bartram, Eddie Chapman, Roby Pope, Ronnie Church and Carlos Mounts.
He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Mounts Funeral Home, Inc. at P.O. Box 1567, Gilbert WV 25621, to help with funeral expenses.
