Robert Gibson 74 of Wharncliffe, departed this life on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on March 8th, 1940 at Wharncliffe to the late Freeland and Ruth Cantrell Gibson.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his only son, Robert Eric Gibson; his brothers: Layton, Clark, Willie and William Gibson and one sister, Norma Bussey.
Robert was a loving and caring husband, daddy, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. He worked in the coal mines and loved spending time with his wonderful family and caring friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to loves and cherish the memory of Robert and mourn his passing include his loving wife of 54 years, Thelma Stanley Gibson; his five daughters: Connie Jean Bailey of Wharncliffe, Rose (Timmy Cline) Stanley of Verner, Carol (Jerry) Ellis of Wharncliffe, Jennifer Gibson of Wharncliffe and Sandy (Teddy) Cline of Wharncliffe; his one sister, Joyce Browning of Wharncliffe; his three brothers: John Gibson of Belfy Ohio, Alfred Gibson of Wharncliffe, and Dean Gibson of Wharncliffe; his four grandchildren: Erica (Michael “Lil-Man” Cline) Stanley, Brandon Bailey, Nicole (Don) Mahon and Jerry Lee (Kluh) Ellis; his five great-grandchildren: Devin Stanley, Hayley Cline, Dylan Stanley, Shayla Stanley and Bryson Ellis; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family at the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church at Wharncliffe on Tuesday, November 4th from 6 pm to 10 pm with a church service at 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 5th at the church with Rev. Denny May and Rev. Danny Ward officiating.
Burial will follow in the Beechfork Cemetery at Wharncliffe.
Robert will be carried to his final resting place by: Michael Ray “Little Man” Cline, Teddy Joe “Buck” Cline, Gary Dean, Timmy Cline, Jerry “Humpy” Ellis II, Jerry Lee Ellis III, and Mickey Ray Ellis.
Honorary pallbearers are: Brandon Bailey, Devin Stanley and Dylan Stanley.
He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.

Services:

Visitation: Tuesday, November 5th from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Funeral- Wednesday, November 5th at 11 am
Place: Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church at Wharncliffe WV
