Nellie Lester, 68, of Verner, WV, went to her permanent heavenly home on February 12, 2017, in Logan, WV. Nellie had a profound impact on many people that encountered her. She was a leader and a family role model. She was beautiful inside and out. She was characterized by her faith, kindness, generosity, caring, and love for her family. Every day, she would remind family members that talked to her, "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. Nellie is preceded in death by her husband, Shelah Earl Lester, Jr; her mother and father, Willard and Alice Baisden; her infant sister, Carolyn Sue Baisden; her brother, George Baisden; and her niece, Aimee Bryant. Nellie is survived by her daughter, Carolyn "Pring" (Phillip) Robinson; her grandson, Jordan (Debrinna) Gibson; her honorary daughter, Tara Munroe-Krumm; her siblings, Patricia Baisden, Shirley (Larry) Barrett, Dolly (Victor) Ellis, Deborah "Doo" (Fred) Thompson, Sherry "Lou" (Tony) Bryant, Letha (Tommy) Paynter, Kathy "Katbird" (Kenneth "Big Man") Williams, Kimberley (Wes) Rowley, Michael Baisden; her step-siblings, Karen, Donnie, Sherry Lynn; a host of nieces and nephews; very special family friend Brenda "Cookie" Cook; and family friends Angie Simpson and Kathy Morrison. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm February 18, 2017, at Verner Community Church with Rodney Robinette officiating.
