Melissa Lester

Melissa Lester, 47 of Logan, formerly of Baisden, departed this life on Thursday, November 22, 2012, at Genesis Logan Center at Logan.

Born November 9, 1965 at Man, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mollie Cline Lester.

Melissa was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was a homemaker and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Melissa and to mourn her passing include her biological father, Drewy (Joann) Blankenship of Hampden; her biological mother, Vima Blankenship of Baisden; her three brothers: Michael (Glenita) Blankenship of Lake, Darrell (Vickie) Blankenship of Bruno and Keith “Ludie” Blankenship of Baisden; her three sisters: Joann (Jack) Ellis and Shirley Blankenship, both of Baisden and Donna Sue Blankenship of Russell Kentucky; a special friend, Trisha Kennedy of Hanover; and a host of other dear family and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Margaret Damron with the WV DHHR for all her compassion and support and to the nurses and staff at the Genesis Logan Center at Logan.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Sunday, November 25th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Diamond Carter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lester Cemetery at Baisden Fork of Baisden.

Melissa will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.
