Mayford Walls

Mayford Walls, 61 of Tamcliffe, departed this life on Tuesday, June 17th 2014 at his residence.

Born March 30, 1953 at Leatherwood, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Mona G. Browning Walls.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers: Thomas Walls, Travis Gwinn Walls, Dallas Walls, Clayton Walls, Clinton Walls, Arden Walls and Harlan Walls; and three sisters: Eunice Walker, Georgia Miller and Zola Blankenship; and a granddaughter, Brooklyn Dawn Belcher.

Mayford was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a retired coal miner and a born again Christian. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those remaining to love and cherish the memory of Mayford and to mourn his passing include his loving wife, Ella Mae Walls of Tamcliffe; his two daughters: Melissa (Mike) Belcher of Hanover and Katrina (Jeff) Morgan of Wharncliffe; his three sons: Teddy (Clarissa) Walls of Virginia, Christopher (Alice) Stanley of Florida and Eric (Cassie) Stanley of Texas; his three brothers: Dewayne (Drema) Walls of North Spring, Jarvis (Jennifer) Walls of North Spring and Rodney (Kim) Walls of Hanover; his six sisters: Clara (Homer) Cline of Simon, Maecene (Jeff) Toler of Laural Branch, Charlotte Maynor of Coal Mountain, Gertrude (Kennis) Cline of Hanover, Mavis Hatfield of Ohio and Debra (Orie) Browning of Hanover; his grandchildren: Zachary Hatfield, Keaton Walls, Kennedy Walls, Heather Hatfield, Teddy Glenn Morgan, Corrina Morgan, Jessica Stanley, Selena Stanley and Katelyn Stanley; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Walls and Wanda Cline; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Tamcliffe Tabernacle at Tamcliffe on Sunday, June 22nd from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, June 23rd at the Tamcliffe Tabernacle with the Rev. Randall Staton, Rev. David Browning and Rev. Michael Browning officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens at Godby Heights of Pecks Mill.

Mayford will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.

He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
