Magdalene Osborne

Magdalene Osborne, 79 of Wharncliffe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her many loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Monday, March 5, 2012, from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born on September 21, 1932 at Wharncliffe, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Cordia Trent Johnson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, William Bill Wolford; her second husband, Booker Osborne; one son, Billy Wolford; one daughter, Joyce Cantrell; one grandson, William Ray Cantrell; one granddaughter, Karen Johnson; one sister, Millie Wolford; and one step-son, Troy Osborne.

Magdalene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with her family, her church family and her friends. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ben Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Magdalene and to mourn her passing include her two sons: Carter Lee (Deborah) Wolford of Wharncliffe and Drewey (Jeanna) Wolford of Riverview section of Gilbert; her two daughters: Velma (Stewart) Johnson and Murlene (Randolph) Cantrell, both of Wharncliffe; her step-daughter, Carolyn Cook of Moundsville; her step-son, Butch Osborne of Moundsville; her grandchildren: David and Matthew Cantrell, James Scott Cantrell, Joey Wolford, Angela Cook, Randy Johnson, Jeffery Wolford and Abigail Wolford; her ten great-grandchildren; her four brothers: Isom, Ralph, Preston and Obed Johnson; her two sisters: Janice Bradford and Murl Alberry; and a host of other dear family and precious friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Faith Church of God at Wharncliffe on Thursday, March 8th from 6 pm to 9 pm with a special service at 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm at the Faith Church of God with the Rev. Danny Ward and Rev. Denny May officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Wharncliffe Station.

Magdalene will be carried to her final resting place by: Joey Wolford, David, Matthew and Jamie Cantrell, Randy Johnson and Jeffrey Wolford.

Honorary pallbearer is Benny Musick.

She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
