Linda Wilson

Linda Wilson, 63, of Gilbert, departed this life on Thursday, September 24, 2015, from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 16, 1952, at Welch, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Eugene and Virginia Mable Hatfield Ward. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one stillborn brother and one sister, Karen Sue Ward.

Linda loved the outdoors. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and vacationing with her family. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious grandchildren. Some of Linda’s favorite hobbies include: crocheting, knitting, and scrapbooking. She was of the Baptist faith.

Those left to love and cherish the memories of Linda are her husband, Larry R. Wilson of Gilbert; one son, Jeremy (Allison) Wilson of Horsepen; two grandsons: Benjamin and Jaxon Wilson both of Horsepen; five brothers: Kenneth (Shawnee) Ward of Varney, Terry (Rhonda) Ward of Horsepen, Freddie (Lori) Ward, Jerry Ward, and Douglas Ward, all of Ben Creek; two sisters: Rita (Ward Lee) Mitchell and Sharon (Danny George) Browning, all of Ben Creek; her mother-in-law, Ruby Wilson of Horsepen; a special sister, Lori Ward; a special aunt, Shirley Ward; a special cousin Sherry; loving nieces: Scarlet Tolly and Tammi Blankenship. Linda also leaves behind a host of other loving and special nieces and nephews along with other many dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, September 26, 2015, from 6-9 pm at the Sprattsville Freewill Bapstist Church at Sprattsville. Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm Sunday, September 27, 2015, at the church, with Rev. Clyde Endicott officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ward Family Cemetery at Wharncliffe. Linda will be carried to her final resting place by: Haven and Austin Bailey, Justin Cline, Travis Ward, Jeremy Wilson, Jeremy Steele, and Douglas Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kenneth Ward, James Buddy Hatfield, Freddie and Shawn Ward, and Sherwood Queen.

Linda’s wonderful smile and gentle heart will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
