Linda Montgomery

Linda Dale Montgomery, 73, of Hartsville, SC., formerly of Gilbert, WV., passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015, from Darlington, SC., after a long illness.

Born December 12, 1941, at Gilbert, she was the daughter of the late Efford Endicott and Norma Hatfield Varney.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Carole Endicott Christian.

Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a member of the Gilbert Presbyterian Church. She was also a former teacher, and she had a love for pets and gardening. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish the memories of Linda include her husband: R. Neil Montgomery of Hartsville, SC.; two daughters: Dawn Montgomery of Hartsville, NC., and Cristy Linea Padget of Latta, SC.; her precious grandchildren, whom she loved and adored: Hanna Padgett of Latta, SC., Chase Montgomery Johnson and Emma Channing Johnson both of Hartsville, SC. Linda also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, along with a host of other dear relatives and friends.

A memorial service will commence at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, with Rev. Roger Endicott and Rev. Cecil Johnson officiating.

To honor Linda’s wishes, her remains have been cremated.

She is gone from our sight, but she will forever remain in our hearts.
