Leona Christian, 65 of Baisden, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born on July 11, 1944 at Gilbert, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josie Huff Trent.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: one son, Joey Christian; a granddaughter, Joey Ann Coy; a sister, Thelma Sandage; and a brother, George Buddy Trent.

Leona was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a retired restaurant worker, working at McDonald's in Gilbert, and was a member of the Sharon Heights Assembly of God Church at Hampden.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are: her husband, Vanno Christian of Baisden; her daughter, Tina (Tim) Coy of Baisden; her three sons: Harlan (Loretta) Christian of Glen Rogers, Carlos (Marlana) Christian of Baisden, and Dwayne (Kayla) Christian of Baisden; her two step-sons, Charles and Mikie Christian of Browning Fork; her two brothers: Carlos Trent of Jacksonville FL and Delmas Trent of Matoka; her two sisters: Alma Porter of North Spring and Elva Trent of Charlotte NC; her eight grandchildren: Larry Mounts, Krista Dotson, Cory and Madison Coy, Elizabeth, Keaven, Lerisa, Jasmine and Mycah Christian; her three great grandchildren: Dakota Mounts and Kayle and Adam Dotson; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may call at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer at Hampden on Tuesday, September 22nd from 6 to 11 pm with a service at 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23rd with the Rev. Arville Cline and the Rev. Carl "Cab" Wolford officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hallie Hogston Cemetery at Baisden.

She will be carried to her final resting place by her sons, Nubbie, Kevin, Michael, and Charles Christian, B. J. Mounts, Cory and Tim Coy, and Franklin Porter.
