Lena Kincaid

Lena Kincaid, 88 of Hanover, WV departed this life at her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones on Thursday, November 26, 2015.

She was born in Elk Creek, WV, on January 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Julius and Viola West Stafford.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands: Francis Marion Dillon and Eugene Kincaid; her son-in-law: Tommie Lee Grimmett; her siblings: Mike, Ross, Elmer, Brack, Will and Arlan Stafford, also, Maxine Lawrence, Mae Carter, Inez White and Charlene Stafford.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was also devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Coal Mountain Freewill Baptist Church for over 40 years. Lena loved to garden and she loved attending church.

Survivors include her brother: Harland (Big Boy) Stafford; her children: Larry (Kimberlyn) Dillon, and Darlene Grimmett, all of Hanover, WV. Vivian (Lonnie) Green of Pineville, WV, Marjorie (Kevin) Caffrey of Welch, WV, Gary (Tammy) Dillon of North Springs, WV; her grandchildren include Sherri (Christopher) Ferro of Melbourne, FL., Tonia (Brandon Jenkins) Hammitt, of Beckley, WV., Valeria (Heath Ellis) Davis, of Hanover, WV, Steven Dillon (Shania McCoy) girlfriend of North Spring; her great grandchildren: Shawna Michelle Davis of Hanover, WV, Gavin and Ethan Hammitt of Beckley, WV. Lena also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and a special neighbor and nephew, Stevie (Marie) Carter and Michael West.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 30, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roger Browning, Rev. Gary Browning, and Elder Jimmy Maynard officiating.

Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery at Hanover, WV. Lena will be carried to her final resting place by pallbearers: Steven Dillon, Stevie Carter, Danny Paynter, Chris Jackson, and Heath Ellis.

The family gives special thanks to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, Beckley, WV, and to the 3rd Floor Staff of CAMC Memorial and to her caregivers Ashley Harter and Mary Walls.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
