Joseph Mounts

Joseph Mounts, 89 of Gilbert departed this life Monday, November 4, 2013 from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born March 15, 1924 at Gilbert, WV he was the son of the late Rev. Leonard and Rosa Mae (Spratt) Mounts.

Joe was a faithful member of the Gilbert Church of Christ for over 50 years, he was a veteran of the Army, WWII. He loved gardening and being with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents and his loving wife Edith, Joe was also preceded in death by his daughter: Wanda Lee Mounts; his sisters: Teresa Green and Vida Mounts; his brothers: George, Bill, Walter, Jack, Dallas and Mason Mounts.

Those left to love and to cherish the memory of Joe are his 2 sons: Ricky (Colleen) Mounts of Gilbert, and Danny (Jennifer) Mounts of Myrtle Beach, SC; his 5 grandchildren: Brock Mounts, Brandon (Linda) Mounts, and Brett Browning all of Gilbert, and Blake and Danny Mounts, Jr. both of Myrtle Beach, SC; his 3 very special great-grand daughters: Skyler, Bella, and Aria, all of Gilbert; his sister: Betty Green of Chattanooga, TN. Joe also leaves a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 6 to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Noah Lester and David Blankenship officiating.

Joe will be carried to his final resting place by: Blake, Danny, Brock and Brandon Mounts, Keith Carter, Brett Browning, Josh, June and Nathan Brown and Travis Ellis. Burial will follow in the Mounts Family Cemetery at Baisden, WV.

Joe may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts
