Jesse Hatfield, Jr., 61, of Justice, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Jesse was born on May 2, 1956, in Logan County at Guyan Valley Hospital. He was the son of the late Jesse “June” Hatfield and Zettie Cantrell Hatfield. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Amanda Rae Hatfield; one special uncle, Jesse Layton Hatfield; and special friends, Charles, Shirley, Delbert, Chucky, and Demetra Simpson. Jesse was a retired coal miner for 33 years, employed by various local coal companies. He was a loving husband, daddy, grandpaw, brother, uncle, and friend. Jesse enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his precious granddaughter. Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 41 years, Leslie Ann Hatfield; one awesome daughter, Jessica and her husband, Andy Hatfield of Hanover; his precious granddaughter, Jessie Jae “JJ” Hatfield of Hanover; one very special sister, Emogene Shirkey of Beckley; sisters: Pauline Hatfield, Connie May, Michelle Bailey; and brothers: Roger, Donald, Rondald, Lonnie, and Randy Hatfield all residing locally. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Sharon Lester of Justice, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and valued friends. Friends may gather with the family on Sunday, June 25, 2017, from 6-9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence on Monday, June 26, 2017, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Clifford Rawls officiating. Burial will follow in the Justice Memorial Gardens at Justice. Pallbearers will be: Scott Cline, Rustian Christian, Denver Simpson, Tubbs Dotson, Sammy Cox, and Andy Hatfield. Honorary pallbearers will be: Alvin Bishop, Durrany Walls, Kermit Browning, Brent Lester, and Doc Grimmett. He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.

Leslie, I am so sorry for your loss. Mom and Dad loved you both dearly. It broke Dad's heart when I told him. He immediately starting reminiscencing of all the things they had done together.
