Janice Bradford

Janice Bradford, 80, of Wharncliffe, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 20, 2016, from her daughter's residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 2, 1936, at Wharncliffe, a daughter of the late Preston and Cordia (Trent) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elbert Berry; her second husband, Willis Bradford; one son, Phillip Berry; one grandson: Allen Hinkle; one granddaughter, Tanessa Marsh; step-son, Marvin Bradford; two sisters: Mag Osborne and Mille Teems; and two brothers: Isom and Obed Johnson. Janice was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, "granny," sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church. Janice loved going to church, and she dearly loved her church family. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters: Barbara (Raymond) Ellis, Wilma (Thurman) Hinkle, all of Wharncliffe, and Melissa (Roger) Kazort of Beckley; four sons: Ed, Jerry, Michael, and Alford (Teresa) Berry, all of Gilbert; her step-children: Eileen Mullins of Wharncliffe and Larry Bradford of Gilbert; also, her 9th child: Tiny Cantrell of Wharcnliffe; two brothers: Ralph Johnson of Gilbert and John P. Johnson of Wharcnliffe; one sister, Meril (Bob) Albury of Delbarton. Janice also leaves behind a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with very many other dear relatives and friends. Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, from 6-9 pm at the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church, with a special service at 7 pm. Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at the church with Rev. Denny May, Rev. Danny Ward, and Rev. Brad Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery and Wharncliffe. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Janice's wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known her.
