Harlan Justice

Harlan Justice, 71 of Baisden, WV, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, May 18, 2015 following a long illness.

Born July 30, 1943 at Baisden, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Lydia Cline Justice.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Arvilla Justice; 2 sons: Leland and Sheldon Todd Justice; one special granddaughter: Cassidy Faith Justice; and a special twin sister: Shirley Justice.

Harlan was a disabled coal miner. He enjoyed deer hunting, coon hunting and chicken fighting. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church of God. Harlan was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many.

Those left to mourn his passing are his daughter: Melissa Carter and companion David Bennett; his son: Derek (Danielle) Justice; his grandchildren: Farrah (Billy) Hunt, Destiny Justice, Dereka Justice, Jacob Justice, Katie (Matthew) Lowe, Brianna Lester and Adam Harvey; his sisters: Betty Mounts, Marcy (Tommy) Blankenship, Barb (Joe) Morgan and Margaret Harding; his brothers: Herbie (Melissa) Justice, Ray (Kathy) Justice, Hubert Justice (Eloise), Debra (Jerry) VanNatter; special friends who helped out so much: Melissa New and Heather Mullins. He also leaves behind a host of other family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, with special service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 22, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert with the Rev. Jonas Trent and Rev. Learman Mounts officiating. Burial will follow in the Phil Cline Cemetery at Baisden.

Harlan will be carried to his final resting place by pallbearers: Billy Hunt, Zach Hatfield, Matt Kissinger, Scotty New, Mark Glandon, Andrew Buchannon, Carlos Mounts, Chase Justice and Dewayne New. Honorary pallbearers will be: Brad Cline, Jacob Justice, George Wooten and Joe Morgan.

His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
