Franklin Lester

Franklin Lester, 74 of Hanover, departed this life on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston.

Born January 30, 1939 at Hanover, he was the son of the late William Bertie and Ardith Browning Lester.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven sisters and five brothers.

Franklin was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a loan officer with BB & T for many years. He loved to play and collect Banjos, listen to Bluegrass music and watch old westerns. He enjoyed spending time with his wonderful family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Franklin and to mourn his passing include his five brothers: Roger (Sharon) Lester of Coal Mountain, Jimmy (Rosie) Lester of Cleveland Ohio, Willis (Penny) Lester of Rockhouse, Curtis “Sammy” Lester of Baileysville and Dale (Lynn) Lester of Baileysville; his three sisters: Lucille Collins of Oceana, Donna (David) Thompson of Hanover and Lynn Justice of Hanover; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Saturday, July 27th from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, July 28th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Lester officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lester Family Cemetery at Joe Point of Hanover.

Franklin will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.

He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
