Frank Hatfield, 76 of Browning Fork section of Gilbert, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 29, 2009, from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born at Gilbert on June 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Sidney and Tilda Hatfield Hatfield.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his first wife of 37 years, with whom he had seven children, Irene Harrison Hatfield; his second wife, Alice Wiley Hatfield; two sons: Donald Ray Hatfield and Frank Hatfield, Jr.; two daughters: Joyce Mounts and Theresa Hatfield; and one grandson, Virgil Hatfield, Jr.
Frank was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a disabled coal miner and a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are: his son, Billy (Theresa) Hatfield of Wharncliffe; his two daughters: Fredia (Diamond) Carter of Browning Fork section of Gilbert and Judy (Larry) Cantrell of Ulysses KY; his seven grandchildren: Billy and Allen Hatfield, Neil (Jamie) Carter, Pamela (Jerry) Dingess, Josh (Trish) Duty, Brian (Terri) Duty, and Tonya (Woodrow) Marcum; his ten great grandchildren: Amanda (Derick) Lester, April Dawn May, Abby, Breanna, Ethan, Keely, and Layla Duty, Hannah Glandon, Jadyn Carter, and Patricia Dingess; his great great grandchild, Caden Scott Lester; his two sisters: Margie Maynard of Man and Louise Farris of Chapmanville; his four brothers: Emmett Hatfield of Princeton, Buck Hatfield of Pineville, and John and Jim Hatfield of Gilbert; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Thursday, July 2nd from 6 to 9 pm with a service at 7:00 pm.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 3rd at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denny May and the Rev. Dale Collins officiating.
Burial followed in the Carter Cemetery at Browning Fork section of Gilbert.
He was carried to his final resting place by his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were: Diamond Carter, Emmett and Buck Hatfield, Jerry Dingess, and Larry Cantrell.
