Ernest Johnson

Ernest Johnson, 81, of Gilbert, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 15, 2016 at Trinity Healthcare of Logan surrounded by loved ones. He was born to John and Lillie (Mullins) Johnson on June 25, 1934 in Glen Alum, WV. He was married to his first wife Flo Ellen (Ferrell) Johnson for 36 years. He was married to his late wife, Rose Ann (Jones) Johnson for 17 years. Ernest was a retried purchasing agent with 18 years at Red Ash Coal Company. He was also a member at Bruno Church Of God. He is survived by his daughter Tina (Jerome) Trent of Baisden, stepson Butch (Kathryn) Auville of Tamcliff, grandchildren Alyssa and Candace Trent of Baisden, step grandchildren Kayla (Matt) Whitt of Pigeon Creek, Corbin Auville of Tamcliff, step great grandson Logan Whitt of Pigeon Creek, brother Frank Johnson of Gilbert, sister Carol (James) Trent of Bruno, sister in law Francis (Paul) Kennedy of Lagrange, Ohio, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife Flo (Ferrell) Johnson, wife Rose (Jones) Johnson, sister Annie Johnson, brothers John (Chigger) Jr., Tommy, Jack, Richard, Boyd, and Shug Buchanon. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Bruno Church of God from 6:00-9:00. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Highland Memory Gardens in Logan at 1:00 pm with Rev. Roger Frye and Rev. Carl "Cab" Wolford officiating. Active Pallbearers will include: OG Cline, Brad Butcher, Mark Johnson, Dwayne Trent, Davey Ward, and Bernard Blankenship. Honorary pallbearers will include: Milton Johnson, Clarence Trent, Charlie Williamson, Herman Trent, and James Trent. A special thanks to Marsha Hatfield and Casey Hatfield for taking great care of Ernest.
