Elestine Ellis

Elestine Ellis, 65 of Justice, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. Born May 28, 1952 in Guyan, WV, she was a daughter to the late Buddy and Marie Toler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Ellis in 2015 and her first husband Calvin Hatfield in 1972. Also preceding her in death were her sisters: Velma "Vel" Cline, Earnestine "Tena" Brown Christian, as well as two brothers-in-law: Olen Cline and Roy Brown, all of whom she loved very much. Elestine was of the Pentecostal Faith and attended the Brenton Community Church. While here on this earth, Elestine enjoyed spending time with her family. She proudly grew up in Coal Mountain and had 13 brothers and sisters. In her youth, she loved playing volleyball with her family and friends - especially up at the old Horsepen Park and at Coal Mountain Grade School. She was an avid bowler with the "Strike Force" at Bowl Mor Lanes in the 1990's with her friends: Colleen Mounts, Carol McGuire, Kay Bryant and the late Karen Bryant. She eventually went to cosmetology school to pursue a passion she always had. She opened her beauty shop "Glamour Curls" at Justice in 1992. Over the years, she would come to meet and grow close to many more friends that she loved and loved her as well. Later in life, Elestine also loved spending time and being around her grandchildren. They really brought happiness to her life. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her beloved nieces: Sherry Kennedy, Diana Hatfield, Sheila Paynter, as well as a host of other nieces and nephews for all of their love and support. Those left to forever cherish her in loving memory include her three children: Rebecca (Petey) Lester of Justice, Jody (Fatma) Ellis of Hinesville, Ga., and Travis (Carrie) Ellis of Verner. The three of them provided her with eight grandchildren: Hope & Chase Lester, Megan, Alyssa & Tiffany Ellis, and Jaxson, Logan & Carson Ellis. Her surviving siblings: Virgie (Lonnie) Harper of Brenton, Darrell (Anita) Toler of Elk Creek, James (Linda Sue) Toler of Oceana, Arnold (Beatrice) Toler of Elk Creek, Loretta (Carl) Harper of Randleman, NC, Margie Brown of South Carolina, Phyllis (Sam) Cline of Branchland, Jessie (Lisa) Toler of Coal Mountain, Helen (Greg) Hatfield of Coal Mountain, Randy Toler, Charlotte (Zeke) Southard and a very special step-father Jimmy Toler of Rockhouse, as well as a host of other dear family and friends. Friends may gather with the family on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 2-3 pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, with funeral services commencing at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Dennis Lester and Rev. Paul Compton officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Coal Mountain. Elestine will be carried to her final resting place by her sons: Jody and Travis, son-in-law: Petey Lester and grandson Chase Lester.
