Edward Eugene “Ed” Brown, 49 of Wharncliffe, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 30, 2011, from CAMC—General Division, at Charleston.
Born August 11, 1961 at Welch, he was the son of Janice Hatfield Brown and the late Eugene Fields Brown.
In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Alma Brown and his maternal grandparents, Lee and Mandy Hatfield.
Ed was employed at Big Bottom Coal Company until he joined his father in the family business as Chief of Operations for Fielding Hydroseeding, Inc.
“Big Ed” will be remembered for his fun-loving character always making everyone enjoy life as he did. He was an avid sports fan and he especially loved a challenging round of golf with his father. Many Christmas memories were made and will be forever cherished by so many who sat on his Santa’s knee.
Those left to love and cherish his memory and to carry on his legacy include his two sons: Justin “Ed” and Miller Brown of Wharncliffe, his precious mother, Janice Hatfield Brown of Wharncliffe; his brother, Warren (Victoria) Brown of Baisden; his two sisters: Samantha (Chuck) Waine of Delbarton and Jennifer (Greg) Surber of Barboursville; his three nephews: Madison Brown, Nathan Surber and Chaz Waine; his two nieces: Cassie Surber and Carlee Waine; and a host of family and friends. Being the generous man that he was, the gift of life was given to three others.
Friends may gather with the family at the Four Winds Tabernacle at Sprattsville on Tuesday, August 2nd after 6:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 3rd at the Four Winds Tabernacle with the Rev. Clayton Cline officiating.
