Douglas Coleman, 71 of Banner Kentucky, formerly of Mohawk, departed this life on Monday, August 1st at his residence in Branner.
Born on December 16, 1939 at Mohawk, he was the son of the late Elige and Stella Mae Cline Coleman.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Margie Lee; one brother, Ervin Coleman; and one stepson, Carl Justice.
Douglas was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a retired coal miner whose hobbies were horses and chickens. He loved spending time with his wonderful family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left of cherish the memory of Douglas and to mourn his passing include his two sons: George Eugene (Kim) Coleman and Earl Douglas (Mary) Coleman both of Lower Long Pole of Panther; his five sisters: Josephine Coleman, Kathlene May, Gerldine Estep, Lexie Bailey and Juanita Jenkins; his three brothers: Willie Coleman, George Coleman and Riley Blankenship, Jr.; his two grandchildren: Latoshia Coleman of Johnny Cake and Lacey Coleman of Lower Long Pole of Panther; his two step-children: Kenneth (Reda) Justice of Mohawk and Madeline Obey of Wisconsin; his eight step-grandchildren; his seven step-great-grandchildren; his caregiver, Barbara Thacker of Banner KY; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family at the Mohawk Freewill Baptist Church at Mohawk on Wednesday, August 3rd after 6 pm with a special service at 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 4th at the Mohawk Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Casey, Rev. Sam Dowdy, Rev. Hassell Rife and Rev. Delbert Hurley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Coleman Family Cemetery at Isom Branch of Mohawk.
Douglas will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.
He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.

Visitation: Wednesday, August 3rd after 6:00 pm
Funeral: Thursday, August 4th at 1:00 pm
Place: Mohawk Freewill Baptist Church at Mohawk, WV
