Doris Marie Grimmett, 85 of Bruno, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her many loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born February 16, 1926 at Mahan, she was the loving daughter of the late William Bill and Cindy Standifur Mosley.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband the late Winfred “Bo” Grimmett; her Son; Rickey Grimmett; two grandsons: David Allen Williamson and David Michael Brown; one great granddaughter; Adrianna Caldwell; and four brothers and four sisters.
Doriswas a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a kind and loving lady with a heart of gold. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. She also loved attending the Pathway Church of God, where she was also a member, and spending time with her church family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and to cherish her memory and to mourn her passing include her five daughters; Joyce (Harrison) Williamson of Davin, Barbara Browning of Youngsville, NC, Linda Lamb of Gilbert, Lisa Brown of Bruno and Donna (Michael) Brown, also of Bruno; her two sons; Benny (Vickie) Grimmett of Landville, and Roy (Michelle Lester) Grimmett of Hanover: her fifteen grandchildren; Sherry Hager, Elizabeth (Bobby) Caldwell, Charlotte (Chris) Short; Lora Browning, Wesley (Rebecca) Browning, Regina Lamb, Roger Lamb, Benny (Sherry) Grimmett, Jr., Misty (Charlie) Province, Megan Grimmett, Katlyn Brown, Taran Brown, Kayne Brown, Jessica Sparks and David Sparks: her great grandchildren; Rebecca Williamson, Haleigh Hager, Meranda and Harleigh Caldwell, Hannah and Sammy Short, Zachary and Jalyn Rutledge, Nehemiah and Jeremiah Browning, Trey Province, Candice Putnam, Aiden VanNatter, Grayson Brown and Autumn Corley: her sister Faye Lusk of Kistler: a special brother-in-law; Cecil Grimmett of Fort Lauderdale, Florida: her special and lifelong friend Myrtle Lamb, and a host of other dear family and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses at LoganRegionalMedicalCenterand a special care giver, Emily Pack.
Friends may gather with the family at the Pathway Church of God at Christian on Tuesday, March 1st after 6 pm.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011 at 1:00 pm, at the Pathway Church of God with Pastor Harrison Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby Heights, Pecks Mill.
Doris will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are: Larry Toler, Arlon and Dallas Grimmett, Yank Williamson, Gerald Carter, and Michael Brown.
She may be gone from our sight but her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
