Dinah Walls

"I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith" II Timothy 4:7 Dinah Lea Walls, 60, of Christian, WV, went home to be with the Lord, January 27, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington following a sudden illness. Born July 14, 1956 at Guyan, she was the daughter of the late Zina Woodrow & Junie Godfrey. She was a true Christian, and faithful worker in Christian Freewill Baptist Church where she was a member for over 40 years and served as the Sunday School Teacher, Singer, Piano Player, and custodian. God gracefully gifted her with musical talent and she faithfully used that gift to glorify him. She was a loving and compassionate soul, and many referred to her as their second Mother. Preceding her in death were her parents, Zina, and Junie Godfrey; Mother-in-law, Corda Lea Walls, Brothers, Tonnie Godfrey, Woodrow Godfrey, and Dexter Godfrey, along with many loved ones and friends Those left to love and cherish the memories of Dinah and to mourn her passing include: Her first love, and loyal husband of 44 years, Louie Walls, two sons: Wesley (Krista) Walls, and Lesley Walls; Two Grandchildren: Krislyn and Camden Walls; four sisters: Zelda (Rex) Zizleman, Kathy (Willis) Fortner, Loretta (Mike) Knatz, and Teresa (Terry) Embry; father-in-law: Rev. Lowell Walls; and an endless number of loving friends. Friends may gather with the family on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 6-9 pm at the Christian Freewill Baptist Church, at Christian. Funeral services will commence on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Mike Johnson, Rev. Jackie Grimmett and Rev. Jackie Jessie officiating. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Memorial Cemetery, Justice. Dinah will be carried to her final resting place by Sherman Bennett, Michael Huston, Joe Coleman, Kyle Fortner, Jamie Fortner and Jerry Walls II. Honorary pallbearers include: Terry Zizleman, Aaron Fortner and Willis Fortner.
