Dexter Odell Cline, 83 of Baisden, was welcomed by angels to Heaven, on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from Pikeville Medical Center. Born on March 4, 1934 at Baisden, he was the son of the late Elbert D. and Ida Dean Cline. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son: Curtis Cline; brother: James Elbert Cline; son-in-law: Tom Wade; great grandson: Noah Matthew Cline. Dexter was a loving husband, father, papa, uncle, cousin and friend. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, going camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. His greatest love was going to church and worshiping with his church family and friends. Dexter was a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith Church and also a retired coal miner, and member of the U.M.W.A. Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his loving wife of 63 years: Nina Faye Blankenship Cline of Baisden; his daughters: Ruth Ann (Dennis) Bailey, Regina (Alfred) Blankenship, all of Baisden, and Patricia (Tom) Wade of Glasgow; son: Cleatis (Cindy) Cline of Tamcliffe; daughter-in-law: Denise Cline; grandchildren: Eric (Krista) Blankenship, Dustin Blankenship, Carla Ann Clark, Christopher Wade, Heather (Bartley) Brown, Heath (Ashley) Cline, James (Bo) Phillips, Tasha and Renae Cline; 15 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends. Friends may gather with the family Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 6 to 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Jonas Trent, Rev. Diamond Carter, and Rev. Lowell Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Glandon Cemetery at Baisden. Dexter will be carried to his final resting place by pallbearers: Grant Browning, Aaron Brown, Scottie Cline, Dustin and Eric Blankenship and James Phillips. Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Wade. His gentle heart and wonderful smile will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.


Nina and Family, my heart is

Nina and Family, my heart is broken to hear of the passing of my dear sweet friend Dexter. We have known each other for more than 60 years and Dexter was like a brother to me. He will be missed more than words can say and my prayers will be with you and your family. I am so sorry that we are unable to be with you during this time of great sadness. So sorry about the loss of this family. Dexter was a good man.I guess God needed another angel for his home. God let's us borrow his angels then when it's time, he calls them home. May God bless this family.

Nina & Family, my thoughts & prayers are with you at this most difficult time. He was a very good and kind man. I always enjoyed talking to you both when you came to Glasgow. It is so difficult to give up a loved one, but remember he is in a wonderful place and no pain. God will take care of him. Take life one day at a time and God will take care of you!
