Denzil Bailey

Denzil Bailey, 84, of White Sulphur Springs, departed this life on Sunday, August 2, 2015, from his residence.

Born on January 31, 1931, Denzil was a son of the late Dillard and Wadea Skeens Bailey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel Bailey; one son, Benson Dean Bailey; one great-grandchild, Noah Matthew Cline; four sisters: Lucille Mounts, Marlene Aliff, Margie Dotson, and Delephine McGuire; and three brothers: Roland Bailey, Benson Bailey, and Raymond Bailey.

Denzil was a retired coal miner and a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to love and cherish the memories of Denzil include his children: Kathy (Ernest) Wade of Iaeger; Denzil Ray (Linda) Bailey of Isaban; Timmy Bailey and Brian (Shelley) Bailey, all of White Sulphur Springs; and Denise Cline of Baisden; one brother, Dillard Bailey of Florida; one sister, Ruby Wade of Long Pole; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Denzil also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at the Chapel with Rev. Clinton Jackson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery at Long Pole section of Mohawk.

Rodney Bailey, Timothy Bailey, Cody Reynolds, B.J. McCoy, Austin Wade, Jason Wade, Cody Vanover, Christopher Wade, and Mark Wade will serve as pallbearers.

He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
