Corrine Davis

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Corrine Davis 76 of Coal Mountain, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 19, 2008.

Born on August 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Bertha (Wallace) Kennedy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene "Jeep" Davis; a grandson, Kevin Davis; and her sister, Belva (Kennedy) Stokes.

Corrine left such a sweet legacy, evidenced by the closeness of her family. She was a retired store clerk and a born again Christian.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Corrine are: her five children: Jeanie (Mike) Rhodes of Brenton, Peggy Davis of Northport AL, Butch (Rita) Davis, Donna (Butch) Puett, and Anita (Gene) Mullins, all of Coal Mountain; her 10 grandchildren; her 15 great grandchildren; her three brothers: French L. (Joyce) Kennedy of Raleigh NC, Virgil Kennedy of Coal Mountain, and Berthel Kennedy of Hanover; and a host of family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Tuesday, April 22nd from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23rd at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marshall Harless and Pastor Patty Morgan officiating. Burial followed in the Coal Mountain Community Cemetery at Coal Mountain. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
