Charlotte Bowens

Charlotte Bowens, 76 of Accoville, WV went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 16, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 26, 1940 at Accoville, WV. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Knipp Ball Belcher and Bernard Ball. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years Charles Bowens; 2 sons: Charles Lewis and John D. Bowens; 1 great granddaughter: Salenna Brooke Grimmett; 3 brothers: William Knipp, Bernard Ball Jr. and Claylen ball; 1 grandson in-law: Mose Allen Wright. Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was a homemaker and devoted Christian, she loved music, and devoted her life to taking care of her family. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Charlotte and to mourn her passing include her 3 daughters: Nioka (Forrest) White, Carol (Butch Preston) Meade all of Kistler, and Jackie (Garland) Collins of Mallory; 1 son: Charles Bowens Jr. of the home; 9 grandchildren: Teddy (Nikki Davis) Browning, Charlotte (Tommy) Ward, Marie (Allen) Grimmett, Ashley (Jeff) Hayes, Forrest "Hoss" (Denise) White, Garland (Amy) Colllins, Titus Perry, Marcus (Brittney Berry) McCoy, Rebecca (Jimmy Brumfield) Meade; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other dear family and friends. Friends may gather with the family on Monday, March 20, 2017 at The Mounts Funeral Home Chapel from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will commence on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Walter Hawkins officiating at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Forrest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Logan, WV. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Ward and Allen Grimmett. Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
