Charles Vance

Charles Vance, 81 of Justice departed this life Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Born on December 13, 1933 at Hensley, WV, he was the son of the late Elijah and Mae Justice Vance.

Charles was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandson Hunter, he also loved to hang out at the Justonian Restaurant. Charles also served in the Army.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife: Patricia Vance; a granddaughter: Angel Nickles; 3 brothers: Claude, Hoarce and Jim Vance; 4 sisters: Reba Ellis, Pricie Dunnigan, Sib Vance and Evelyn Perry.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Charles and to mourn his passing are his daughter: Regina (James) Nickles of Justice; his son: Tommy (Sherry Pocrnich) Vance of Jonesboro, TN; his grandson: Hunter Nickles of Justice; his brother: Harry Vance of Gilbert; his 3 sisters: Mary Vanover of Justice, Carrie Wilburn of Abingdon, VA, and Janice McCrary of Lebanon, VA. Charles also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 27, 2015 at 1:00 pm, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Clifford Rawls and Rev. Diamond Carter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Justice, WV.

Charles will be carried to his final resting place by pallbearers: David Simpson, Thomas Cawley, Eric Lester, Paul Caldwell, Kent Vance and Danny Brinkley.

His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.

Military service will be conducted by Disabled American Veterans, Chapter # 141, Belfry, KY.
