Bernice Henderson

Bernice Henderson, 63 of Baisden, departed this life on Thursday, May 3rd, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan.

Born April 3, 1949 at Iaeger, she is the daughter of the late Fred and Vernia Thompson Glanden.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters: Sandra Sims and Judy and Glenda Glanden and her brother, Hubert “Buddy” Glandon.

Bernice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a cook at the Coalfield CAP(Gilbert Senior Center) and of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed working with the seniors at the Gilbert Center and she loved spending time with her wonderful family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Bernice and to mourn her passing include her loving husband of 44 years, James “Buttons” Henderson of Baisden; her two daughters: Tina (Jay) Lockard of Wharncliffe and Gail (Billy Ray) Lester of Baisden; her two grandchildren: Raven Lester of Baisden and Jacob Lockard of Wharncliffe; her sister, Patsy Carter of Baisden; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Saturday, May 5th from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 6th at 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Hobart Hamilton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Glanden Cemetery at Baisden.

Bernice will be carried to her final resting place by family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are: Nathan Glanden, Ricky Dean Lester, Julius Lester, Elliott Ellis, Glen Carter, Butch Lambert, Mack Coleman and Jason Lester.

She is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.
