Amos New, 80 of Baisden, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, from Williamson ARH in South Williamson KY.

Born on April 22, 1929 at Baisden, he was the son of the late Troy and Tennessee Vannie Blankenship New.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his first wife, Virgie Ruth Kennedy New; one son, Arnold Ray New; and three brothers: Raymond, Joda Pat, and Buddy New.

Amos was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Full Gospel Church of God at Baisden. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and the fact that he never met a stranger.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Amos are: his wife, Donnie Davis Cline New of Baisden; his son, David (Denise) New of McCarr KY; his three daughters: Norma Jean (Buck) Hatfield of Sharon Heights of Hampden, Wanda (Rocky) Morgan of Simon, and Arlene (Terry) VanNatter of Grassy Meadows; one brother, Doug (Zola) New of Coal Mountain; his three sisters: Alma Cline and Gladys Mounts both of Baisden, and Alice Lester of Sprattsville section of Gilbert; his six step-children: Susan (Eddie) Shaffer, Rhonda (Donnie) West, Glenda (Darrell) Walls, Dennis Cline, Lora (Darrell) Cline, and Regina (Lynn) Cline; his 11 grandchildren; his 15 great grandchildren; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends called at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Friday, June 19th from 6 to 9 pm with a service at 7 pm.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 20th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jonas Trent, Rev. Diamond Carter, and the Rev. Denny May officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Sharon Heights at Hampden.

He was carried to his final resting place by his grandsons and great grandsons.
