A sweet and loving Child of God, Agnes Davis, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010, from her residence in Oceana, surrounded by her loving family.
Born at Logan on December 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Josie Sizemore Parsons.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Davis and one son, James Davis.
Agnes was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her wonderful family and friends. She had a beautiful and welcoming smile and a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish her memory and to carry on her legacy include her five sons: William “Bill” (Pansy) Davis of Forest City NC, Frank Ray (Patricia) Davis of Oceana, Douglas (Betty) Davis of Scot Depot, Roger Davis of Oceana, and Blaine Eddie (Kathy) Davis of Sumerco; her four daughters: Leora Gay (Jr.) Meeks of Branchland, Barbara (Jess) Cook of Oceana, Josie “Ellie” (Rick) Blankenship of Hanover, and Betty Joe (Larkin Jr.) Riffe of Ikes Fork; her daughter-in-law, Rose Davis of Hamlin; her closest friend and caregiver, Donna Fortner of Hanover; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren who were a blessing to her; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family, to celebrate Agnes’ life, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Friday, July 9th from 6 to 9 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 10th, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Doctor Jerry Rose officiating.
Burial will follow in the Davis Cemetery at Six Mile, Branchland.
She will be carried to her final resting place by her grandsons and great grandsons.
