Hersel New, 88 of Panther, departed this life Sunday May 1, 2016 from his residence. Born February 7, 1928 at Baisden, he was the son of the late Johnson and Lean Patrick New. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife: Nada Kirk New; his children: Bobby, Sherman, Steve, Gene and Baby Boy New; grandchildren: Jerry New, Rodney Johnson and Sherry Lynn New: brothers: Charles Peanut New and Landola New; sister: Marie McCoy. Hersel was a retired coal miner from Blue Bird Coal Company. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Hersel

Rev. Jimmy Joseph Bosen, 69 of Hanover, departed this life Monday, April 25, 2016 from St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington, WV. Born on August 20, 1946 at Williamson, he was the son of the late Jimmy J. and Pauline Murphy Bosen. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sons: Jimmy J. Bosen, Jr., and John Paul Bosen. Rev. Bosen was the present pastor of the Niebert Missionary Baptist Church, he also pastored churches in Indiana, Michigan and Gilbert, WV. He was a Bible scholar. He also enjoyed following news posts, and he was an avid sports fan. Rev.

Bartley Hunt, 78 of Gilbert, departed this life Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from his residence. Born October 5, 1937 in Mingo County, he was the son of the late Mont and Virgie Cline Hunt. Bartley was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Bartley and to mourn his passing are his loving wife: Hazel Surber Hunt of Gilbert; 2 sons: Chris (Helena) Hunt of Chesapeake, Va and Curtis Hunt of Gilbert; his grandson: Ty Hunt of Chesapeake, Va.

William Larry Stacy, 71 of Justice, departed this life Monday, April 25, 2016 from St. Mary’s Medical Center. Born April 13, 1945 at Hanover, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Hattie Riffe Stacy. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother: Lonnie “Ticky” Stacy; and his daughter-n-law: Tina Stacy. Larry began working in the coal industry at a very young age. Throughout his career he held titles such as equipment operator, foreman, superintendent, vice president and owner/operator of Larry Stacy Augering Inc.

In addition to her parents, Vidie was also preceded in death by her daughter: Verly Christian; son: Jimmy Davis; sister: Versie Stanley; her brothers: Virgil, Verlo, Vinson and Verlin Christian. Vidie enjoyed watching television and spending time with her family and friends. Those left to love and cherish the memory of Vidie are her daughter: Melissa Jane Christian and companion Darrell White of Gilb

Barbara Justice, 78, of Gilbert, gained her heavenly wings on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, leaving from CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born on November 16, 1937, at Glen Alum, she was the daughter of the late William Ray and Hattie P. Bragg Aker. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Aker, and one sister, June Aker. Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved being “Maw Maw” to everyone.

Kelvin Dave Cook, 61 of Simon, WV, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016, at his home. Kelvin was born on April 19, 1954, at the Clark Clinic, Iaeger, WV, to Wanda Lee (Kenneda) Cook and the late Harry Edward Cook. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister: Wilma Lee Cook; and 3 brothers: Randall, Sonny & Jerry Cook. Kelvin served his country for three years in the U.S. Army.

Sharon Kay Keneda, 73 of Hanover, WV departed this life on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Welch Community Hospital following a long illness. Sharon was born on October 3, 1942, at Man, WV, she was the daughter of the late Berthel Houston & Mable (Altizer) Kennedy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Arbery Keneda; and one brother: Charles (Sonny) Kennedy. Sharon was a member of the Longbranch Freewill Baptist Church. She loved attending church and reading her bible. Sharon also enjoyed spending time with her family and playing bingo.

Ernest Johnson, 81, of Gilbert, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 15, 2016 at Trinity Healthcare of Logan surrounded by loved ones. He was born to John and Lillie (Mullins) Johnson on June 25, 1934 in Glen Alum, WV. He was married to his first wife Flo Ellen (Ferrell) Johnson for 36 years. He was married to his late wife, Rose Ann (Jones) Johnson for 17 years. Ernest was a retried purchasing agent with 18 years at Red Ash Coal Company. He was also a member at Bruno Church Of God.
