Shirley Riffe, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 29th, 2016. Shirley was a homemaker her entire life, an avid gardener and a devoted mother, wife and grandmother to her family. She was the fire and spirit of her family. Proceeding her in death was her husband of 42 years, Miles Harvey Riffe, Jr.

Hillard Cline, 91 of Baisden, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from Williamson Memorial Hospital, due to an illness. Born February 7, 1925, at Baisden, he was the son of the late Jesse and Bella Cline of Baisden, WV. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Hillard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church of God of Baisden. He was a Christian and he loved everyone.

Unis Stacy, 79 of Mohawk, departed this life Monday, September 26, 2016 from his daughter’s residence. Born on June 7, 1937 at Jolo, he was the son of the late Miles and Katherine (Mullins) Stacy. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years: Molly Stacy; his daughter’s: Deborah and Dakert Stacy; his sons: Delbert and Delmer Stacy; his brothers: Ruffus, Ulis and Okie Stacy. Unis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed helping everyone.

Lona (Sis) Ellis Hall, 96, departed this life Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Pikeville Hospital, in Pikeville, Ky. She has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior. Born September 27, 1920, she is the daughter of the late Robey and Callie Ward. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Ellis Hall, and a daughter Louise Terry, of Columbus Ohio. Survivors include her daughters: Bertha Hatfield of Wirt Co., Judy Akers of Varney, WV; her sons: Jerry Ellis, Raymond and Barbara Ellis, Lawrence Ellis all of Wharncliffe, Clifford and Edna Ellis of Bluefield, WV.

Seth Alan Justice, 45 of Huntington, formerly of Gilbert, departed this life Sunday, September 4, 2016 from Cabell Huntington Hospital. Born on October 9, 1970 at Man, he was the son of Glen Dale (Betty) Justice and the late Sandra Justice. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his brother: Christopher “Brad” Justice; his maternal grandparents: Bertha and Frank Gibson; his paternal grandparents: Lexie and Cullen Justice. Seth loved watching Nascar, going fishing, and squirrel hunting. He was an avid sports fan. He had served in the U.S.

Jessie Layton Hatfield, 74 of Omar, formerly of Gilbert, departed this life Friday, September 2, 2016 from Williamson ARH Hospital. Born January 7, 1942 at Browning Fork, he was the son of the late Jesse Sr., and Mary Hatfield. Layton enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing, and going to church when he was able. He was a retired coal miner and a member of The Browning Fork House of Faith.

Howard Wayne Cooper, 63, of Varney, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division. Born December 9, 1952, he was the son of the late Betty Hatfield Mitchell. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his loving grandmother who helped raise him, Lula M. Hatfield; his father-in-law, Cecil Walls; and a sister-in-law, Becky Walls Hatfield. Howard was a 1970 graduate of Gilbert High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from West Virginia University and obtained his Master’s Degree from Marshall University.

Born September 3, 1950, at Logan, she was the daughter of the late Doc & Mollie Slone. In addition to her parents Patsy was also preceded in death by her husband Ivan Gene Cline; son: Bobbie Joe Cline; sister: Odean Bigley. Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
